I had this idea for so many years but since I’m not an artist I’ve never come around to make it, until now.

I’m still not an artist, but I hope everyone can enjoy what I made.

the story goes like this:

Haruka and Michiru are super famous, and while they were doing separate photoshoots for magazines targeting their audience, they’ve never done one together, until one magazine finally asked them to.

they wanted something that was out of the norm for both, sexy but not trashy, showcasing their bond, and how they trust each other.

The idea of Michiru unzipping Haruka’s Jumpsuit with one hand, and covering her tit with the other, felt to me that it would be the only way of Haruka doing a sexy photoshoot. for Haruka’s birthday I present you to a problematic headcanon I saw in the headcanon tumblr page

it depicts Haruka/Uranus in a Viking style of clothing, with a round shield and space sword.

why is this problematic you ask?

well the “prince Uranus” bullshit was a rumour that american homophobic fans came up with because they couldn’t stand the fact that Haruka is a lesbian.

so using THAT is just disgusting.

Now when it comes to Haruka dressing in pants instead of a dress(which is the canon fucking thing princess Uranus wears) is one of the tropes I hate the most.

We need to talk about fandom

I’m the first to scream at the top of my lungs that Haruka is a woman and Michiru is the biggest LESBIAN in the history of humanity.

That being said, and regardless of how fired up I’m when I speak about these things on this blog, is it NOT in any way a reason to go and send hate to people who see Haruka as enby! especially if they are themselves trans/enby and find rep in an enby Haruka. Enby Lesbians exist after all, and as long as Haruka is not seen as a hetero man and Michiru as a hetero woman, then we are good.

I’ve NEVER in this blog have pointed fingers at specific people, so if you are to use my argument respect both me and the person who you talking to. I have made it very clear that my argument that Haruka is a cis woman, is not a ladder for TERFs to use to attack trans people.

my enemy is the homophobes not other trans people.

I have only personally been fired up against bullshit people say when they say that Haruka is a man and Michiru is straight. In these cases I go full force and tell them they are outright WRONG. Even in those case I’ve never used slander against them.

In the cases of enby people, who see Haruka as rep, I’m ALL for it. I would explain why she’s not enby, but I wont attack them and tell them they stupid for thinking so. And if they want to keep on finding rep in enby Haruka all the more power to them.

The fact that I have to make this post of simple fandom etiquette makes me very sad.

HaruMichi headcanons that get the characters so wrong

a thing I’m not going to talk about on tumblr, because people there are not ready to hear.

THIS HEADCANON read it, think about every word and tell me this is not the influence of the 90s anime, I dare you.

THE AUDACITY TO USE THE MANGA PICTURE

the first wrong:

they break up to find themselves

implies that one is an obstacle to the other’s life, and vice versa.

have we seen that ever in the manga? The answer is no. They put their careers to the pause because of the mission at hand which is SAVING THE WORLD. But after that and after they lose their powers, Michiru is in Vienna for concert while Haruka is in South Africa for a race. So neither stops doing the things they love because they are together romantically. All the while raising a fucking child!

Of course someone would argue that career is not the only thing in life, which is true. So what other obstacle could each other be. Dating other people?

Why is that so necessary if they have already found the love of their lives? How them being together when we first see them, makes it impossible for them to have been in other relationships prior.

they are 16 when we meet them, they might have awaken less than six months before, they might have dated for less. But for the sake of the argument I will give them a year together. So prior to 15 they most likely had relationships with other teens their age.

So how many relationships do they need, before they settle with their person?

in the 90s anime they weren’t dating when we first saw them. so they could very well be with other ppl before the season started. But in the 90s there was the element of jealousy at play, mostly by Haruka but also made a gag out of Michiru answering maybe when questioned if she’s jealous.

So yes Jealousy IS AN OBSTACLE, which is not present in the manga whatsoever.

The second wrong:

when they get back together

after how long? do they break up at 18 and they get back together at 40? Or they just break up for like a year? What changed in that amount of time? Career progress? being with other people? making a family with someone else? Going through several break ups with other people, trauma, abuse, what?

Or do they break up at 35 because they want to clearly date other people? And if so, then why they come back together? At that stage in life, they know what they want (I assume for them specifically because it aligns with their personalities, it’s not a fact of life for everyone). Michiru has probably accomplished EVERYTHING as a musician, multiple records, playing with the best orchestras in the world, probably producing for others, she is even teaching in the manga. Haruka at 35 as a race car driver is that the epilogue of her career, probably an F1 world champ, more than once (as she’s written to be extremely skillful). Most drivers at that age, thinking of their retirement or taking it a bit easier with other racing programs not as demanding, they have spouses and kids, so the thirst for racing is fulfilled.

why does a breakup in any stage of their life would make their bond stronger? Why was their bond prior to break up not strong enough?

The third wrong:

Their dynamic is healthier too

This one implies that their dynamic is not healthy. Which I find very puzzling, because in the manga, there is not a single case of them raising red flags. They are sweet and tender to each other, respect and love each other, protective of each other, no jealousy is present, as explained above neither was ever an obstacle to the other’s career. They communicate their feelings, one example is when Haruka in dream arc sheds a tear because she misses her princess, Michiru is there by her side, hugs her, and Haruka opens up and tells her the reason she’s crying, no hiding, not wiping the tear away, just open and real. Their playful banter when they return to school in Stars, and Haruka is grumpy for having to get up early, and Michiru is enthusiastic with her return to school, she greets everyone and she’s thinking of getting lover letters again. So yeah again where is the unhealthy dynamic? Just because two people are together for long and may or may not have experiences with other people that doesn’t mean that it’s a red flag. In fact I would argue that they are both on even play-field in terms of experiences.

In the 90s now, as mentioned above Haruka is a jealous person. That is toxic, especially when she tells Michiru to not get people inside her dressing room, that’s controlling. Haruka also flirts in front of Michiru with other people, that’s a shitty behaviour. So if you go with THAT with your headcanon then yes as they are shown in the 90s they are not healthy.

Now if any of this has to do with their whole destiny bs, I gotta say that manga HaruMichi are not together because of destiny, they are together because they are both lesbians who find each other very very hot. The fact that their guardian crystals know each other from their past, is not informing their attraction, it amplifies it. Imagine being that strong a lesbian that your love for your woman transcended time and space! HaruMichi (manga version) can relate.

More HaruMichi fanfic pet-peeves

You know how Haruka is 99% of the times portrayed as this very experienced, very confident, very flirty lesbian?

I don’t agree with half of it, but whatever I’m not going to say no to a confident Haruka.

what irks me with such portrayal of Haruka is that when it comes to Michiru she’s suddenly not experienced, not confident, and not flirty. And she can’t tell for the life of her if Michiru is interested in her, if she’s attracted to women, if she’s a lesbian. nothing.

literally HOW.

make it make sense.

they apply the “dumb lesbian” stereotype on Haruka when they also portray her as a very confident, very experienced one.

to think that Haruka will lock eyes with Michiru, (who would instantly fuck her with her eyes) and Haruka would think, “nah that girl is straight”

I saw this and I instantly thought of Michiru

my experience with sharing things on Tumblr has gone explosive so far

I made a post about Megumi Ogata’s words in that interview, got me some anons, figured now one of the anons is actually someone who has read my blog here and has talked to me on tumblr before, possibly wont talk to me again, though if you want to reach out and have a convo about it, I have no problem.

my caustic criticism of 90s anime Haruka didn’t go very well, and I understand why, it’s not easy to have your fav interpretation of a character being criticized.

That being said, sadly the key point of my posts which was what Megumi was told by the production, and me roasting and cancelling TOEI, and not Haruka, were lost in the chaos.

my wording was not the most friendly obviously, I’m pissed with what TOEI did. And I understand that is not received well, but I was also accused of hating butch lesbians, and being cis and het and transphobe.

I’m enby, before I started identifying as such I was considering myself to be a butch. I’m aroace, but I do experience aesthetic attraction and think women as fucking hot,(and so are some men) and so are all and every enby/genderfluid/genderqueer/etc people. Not that my identity should mater when I simply state factual information of what TOEI did.

I do admit that using words like “man envy” was probably too much, but I’m fucking pissed of that specific trait that is planted there by the cishet men writers of Toei animation.

you can come at me and asked me why do I think that, you can come at me and ask me to prove to you if what I say is factual or not. challenge me and I’ll respond. What I’m not here for is having my identity invalidated, and called any kind of phobic.

I don’t think Haruka should be interpreted as a man from the fandom, no the fandom should always without a miss consider her a LESBIAN, what I’m saying is that the TOEI ANIMATION WRITERS didn’t write her as a lesbian, but as a cis-het man, that resulted in a Haruka who exhibits some bad behaviours, that I PERSONALLY find problematic and that should not be part of her character to begin with, since they were not traits in the original form of the character.

did Naoko do some perfect work? No she didn’t, but at least she wrote her as a woman.

This is not about Manga Haruka being better than the 90s, this is about TOEI telling the VAs that HaruMichi are not a gay couple.

for almost 3 decades now, HaruMichi have their lesbian identities invalidated by homophobes and ignorant people who saw a character is a suit and made their minds about her gender.

This is a result of how TOEI handled them, this is what I’m frustrated about.

everytime I go into pixiv web to look up some harumichi art, I lose more faith in humanity…

The artists there are mostly Japanese, but some westerners use the site as well, so of course I’m an adult I don’t filter R18+ art and I’m always up for some good HaruMichi sexytime, but then the cis-het men post their arts, and you deep down know it’s cis-het men because:

1. they can’t figure out anatomy,
2. they are filthy as hell(not in a sexy way)
3. the girls are being either r*ped or abused in some way
4. the themes are them being in a compromising/humiliating position and there is always some large faceless man with an enormous cock r*ping them, some times the “man” is a creature
5. when in the rare case Haruka is with Michiru in the picture then it’s futanari (with Haruka having the large cock)
6. they make sure we all know they are 16 and the man abusing them is OLD

there is ZERO talent, ZERO imagination.
