My name is HoshiLove(星らぶ), and I’m a long term Sailor Moon fan.
I have always loved the Seramyu, so I decided to make a blog to share the love.
My favourite characters have always been Haruka and Michiru, and I write fanficition about them mostly on ffnet but also some are on Ao3 as well.
I’m in my late 30s, and I was just a little kid back in 1993 when Sailor Moon made it to my country. The dub was so hideous, and hard to understand since the translation made no sense, therefore I never grew up with Sailor Moon. When in my 20s I was reminded about that anime I had seen few episodes of as a kid, I started watching the anime (original Japanese audio), read the manga, watched the musicals, and the live action, only to fall in love with the story. I loved all mediums, and I also love Crystal as much as the rest.

I really like them all and HaruMichi one shot too. It’s make me LOL all chapter and I really like your character interpretation about Haruka is emotional, shy and sensitive because is really canon from Naoko footnote plus I analysis about her and Michiru too. I really like Haruka’s shy and Michiru’s more expressive like manga and crystal too. Anyway thank you for all your fanfic. And I wait for your updates

Btw, do you collect all Naoko original artwork from google or artbook? I really like her art and I really like when Haruka and Michiru in their their clothes where Haruka show her cleavage plus bikini moment and when all senshi wear butler uniform plus Haruka wear clothes with rapier sword. I recall they are two artwork when all senshi in bikini 😁
But I LOL about read at the twitter sailor moon fandom maybe american or western fandom, all their comment about Haruka’s gender and Starlight transformation. Well actually if they use logic, it’s actually easy to understand Haruka’s gender is cis woman like manga and crystal anime where she’s wear feminine clothes. But in twitter some say she’s trans like starlight and if I remembered correctly, one person say Naoko is transphobic. Well I don’t know why they can comment like that but I glad I can easily understand both manga and Crystal anime and Naoko sensei footnote too. And about 90’s anime the TOEI production anime team is all male right? So they change all the story and Haruka’s style clothing make Naoko sensei is not happy about that too?

I have seen it all yes Haruka in Biniki is just too sexy lol, her bikini is that kind that is super super sexy lol, also art work of Usagi in lingerie and topless, or with minako touching her breast.

here’s the thing because of the bad translation of manga and crystal when Michiru says that Usanus has qualities of both genders as a warrior, and it’s translated as haruka being both sexes/genders people have misunderstood. that being said most ppl have not read the manga, and crystal has gone so far. also crystal didn’t show haruka’s fashion from the infinity arc in the manga, apart from 2 outfits. also it’s lost in translation that Haruka uses feminine pronouns and fem speech.
I understand as a nonbinary person myself that Haruka being non-binary/trans means a lot to people. but she’s not that’s the thing.
The starlights who were made to have male physique in the 90s are also something that the trans community looks at it as representation, but for me the fact that the 3 lights simply return to their female bodies in the end and completely drop everything from fashion to pronouns, makes me believe the only reason they were made to have male body was to give a no homo to usagi. since 90s Seiya was trying to her in her pants, even though usagi has stated multiple times that she has a bf and is not interested.
I don’t know what Naoko believes, but she hasn’t express any discrimination against trans people as far as I know. she was simply mad that the 90s producers changed the gender of her characters. which made her story inconsistent.
she was mad that haruka was made so masculine when she made her so fem.
as for 90s producers, not all of them were men, but 90% were. there were couple of women animators. but so very few overall.

Oooo I see. So most people who understood and read plus watched about Sailor Moon in manga, crystal even eternal movie now is really got all that Naoko true story than in 90’s anime right? Because I saw many people who really know differences both 90’snime and Crystal/Manga is very happy to following the story even Haruka and Michiru like manga not like 90’s anime especially their personalities 😅
Remember about Haruka’s gender sometimes make me remembered about my japanese seiyu and actress too because about his appearance is androgynous. If you know hoshirabu-san, you may know him as Aoi Shouta. If you interested to know him, you can search at Google. I don’t know about to post picture like this at this web. translation is a big factor for haruka’s gender I think. I dont think many ppl know about haruka’s pronouns in the manga are. if they did this would have not been an issue whatsoever. even if the mistranlation of what michiru said would make haruka not be AFAB, she would still be a woman based on her pronouns. That being said, Haruka is a cis woman at the end of the day.
I know Aoi Shouta, he plays fish eye in the sm eternal.

as for the story, I wouldn’t really change anything in the manga, I would love to have extended the HaruMichi background. Them and Setsuna are the only ones for whom we don[t know anything about their family background.
we know Usagi’s parents and brother, Minako also has a similar family, Ami has a doctor mom and her dad is an artist they are divorced, we know Rei’s dad is a politician and her mom is dead, we know makoto’s parents died in a plane crash, and mamorus died in a car crash. we know hotaru’s mom is dead and her dad was prof tomoe, but for HaruMichi and setsuna nothing. so I would like to see more of their back stories, also more outers stories in general, and also some more about their background in the silver millanium time, we know they were all three in solitude but that’s about it.
so I wouldn’t necessarily change something but rather extend the story a bit more

I’m writing something these days, a michiru centric piece, about her life how I imagine it, and her love for women.
google translate sucks, Bing translator is way better
my fav of all time is “betrayal” it is one of my best written works.
inspiration comes from different sources, sometimes I dream a plot, other times, a word or a song or a movie scene might get me plotting, but mostly dreams, I fall asleep with harumichi in my mind, then I’ll dream something, and if I remember it in the morning then I expand on it.

Ooo yeah about HaruMichi and Setsuna family is like mysterious. About them, I really want to know about their background and how HaruMichi fall in love at first. I just can hope one day Naoko sensei make it. And about Setsuna family, in manga/Crystal she is reincarnated right? But one make me confuse, if she was reincarnated like others plus when Outers explain about their duty plus death buster situation to Usagi and others. How can she explain about death buster like know from beginning like Haruka and Michiru know about them? I remembered if she reincarnated because Neo Queen Serenity gave her power to her’s reincarnation right? Or did I just miss something?
When dream arc, when Haruka pick Michiru up at store, many fans who saw them as couple know Haruka as male racer because her reputation as F1 driver at Mugen arc or somewhat?

From manga alone, HaruMichi had their memories from Sil Mil restored when they transformed. if we take 90s into consideration, Michiru had visions from young age, and she’s the only guardian awakening on her own. I’ll have to cross check with manga if that is also true there, because I don’t remember at the moment. Setsuna only gained her memories when she became pluto. What they know for sure is that they need to stop Saturn, I think the death busters just popped up during their investigation. And since they are threat from outside the solar system it’s the outers main duty to stop them.
Neo Queen Serenity indeed reincarnated pluto and sent her back to 20th century to help. HaruMichi probably awaken because of death busters being outside the solar system threat. (queen beryl and prince demand were both from inside the solar system)

👏👏😁 whoa you are really awesome to write fanfic like that, and last dance plus heavens in love is my favorite too. Especially in heavens in love, little Michiru is very adorable and expressive about Haruka as her ‘oujisama’ that’s really sweet and funny plus sad about the ending 😭 in last chapter Michiru reincarnated and Haruka too? I wonder if you would make sequel

Have you watched Sailor Moon eternal spoiler at youtube? Like when Usagi vs Nehelenia? Do you have Sailor Moon Eternal Artbook? Because I see many scan like photo when all Senshi become Princess Solar System or Outers profile and pictures of scene like manga and their design too. I have save some at my twitter. I want to buy but I really confused to buy from Japan to Indonesia.
Do you have played Sailor Moon Another story? Is like RPG game in Snes classic. Since one week i play that game and is really entertaining 😁 my full team is HaruMichiSetsu 😂

I like other anime I dont watch as many as I used to, because the moe style makes me wanna puke lol
but im mostly into women leading roles, and yuri. so my fav anime are few but I love them.
BeruBara, (though I prefer the manga) oniisama e, utena, yagate kimi ni naru(best yuri anime in existence) the old classics marimite, and strawberry panic,
since there are more yuri manga than anime, I read a lot more than watching. my latest fave is “Hello, Melancholic!” which is all bout girls, and their love for other girls, and an adorably shy protagonist

I run into anime and games because characters I like example like Haruka and Michiru, because of them I watch and read sailor moon again when I become older and I can grasp the story well too, but you right about moe art style 😑 is too really damn cute and make my eyes like 🙄 this. When you watched 90’s anime sailor moon, do you watched them all with filler or not with filler? Because there are to many filler. And when you watch youma or droid battle, all that monster is make you cringe too? If I become senshi, I don’t really got serious to fight them, all I had to do just LOL because those monsters 🤣🤣🤣 especially when inner senshi fight is just like comedian

Hey Karu! I want to ask about Sailor Moon ending between 90’s anime and manga. Which do you like? The manga ending is concluded which time skip to 6 years later right? Is Chibiusa already conceived when Usagi with Mamoru?
I read the discussion about Sailor Cosmos and I read many times even until now I bit confuse, some say Sailor Cosmos is the future final form of Usagi when she already give up about the result of her alternate future battle with Chaos is become more doomed, so she came back to Usagi present time to reset and want to destroy Galaxy Cauldron but Usagi don’t want destroy it because she with Mamoru and her friends want to live as normal errr I forget but because Usagi’s decision, Mamoru and all Senshi is revived again and they back to earth until time skip 6 years Usagi and Mamoru wedding. at same time the Crystal Tokyo will begin , but it’s still same like the timeline future from Black Moon Arc and Stars Arc or there some changes for current new beginning Crystal Tokyo like Chibimoon will have sailor quartet?
I remember in the Stars Arc when all Inner Senshi inculding Pluto and Mamoru have falling to coma because their star seeds are stolen by Galaxia, there are not Uranus, Neptune and Saturn. Is different alternate future Crystal Tokyo? But Chibiusa know about Outer Senshi except Pluto in Infinity arc. When she’s back to Crystal Tokyo 30 century, Neo Queen Serenity and Endymion already know or didn’t know about them?

hmmmmm I like the manga ending way more because it’s conclusive
Cosmos is very far in the future form of sailor moon. she couldn’t defeat chaos indeed, yes sailor moon decided instead of destroying the cauldron to absorb chaos to all living things. Mamoru and especially the guardians could keep their original form because their will for be with each other again was so strong. and yes we skip to the wedding and usagi felt a star being born at the ceremony so she’s already pregnant at the moment of the wedding.
as for chibiusa not knowing about the outers, one theory is that the future is fluid and adapts after some events. the outers were never supposed to be around the princess. that those changed when they awaken in infinity arc.
they awaken because Prof tomoe kept hotaru alive artificially, that triggered a domino reaction, that caused the outers to awake.
the future from black moon and the future after blackmoon is defeated are different
the black moon future chibiusa is 900 years old but dont grow to adulthood like the rest of the population. after they restore 30th century chibs grows at normal speed.
same with the quartet they wouldn’t away if it wasn’t for nehelania, their time was not yet to awake. since they are chibiusa’s future guardians when sailor moon is not active anymore.
is stars in the manga, mamoru falls first
the ami and makoto have their star seeds stolen, then rei and minako. for a time the outers protect usagi. then the outers decide to go investigate on their planets, meanwhile Pluto sends hotaru to the 30th century to get chibiusa for help.
at their planets the outers get their star seeds stolen.
according to the starlights once the star seed is stolen the physical body is destroyed. so no coma at all
after the outers are gone, kakkyuu and the starlights protect usagi and they go to find galaxia.
starlights are killed so at the end is usagi VS galaxia

Wow you really awesome to understand and can full grasp the point story of manga until the end Karu 👍 I already read manga many time but some times still confuse about stars arc.
So in the end, when Usagi chose not destory Cauldron, plus since black moon defeated plus Nehelenia and Galaxia till Chaos defeated, the result is affected to Usagi current present timeline until wedding and her ascending, so when 30th Crystal Tokyo will begin, it’s become changing too much because the result of their past battle too right?

that is my theory and what makes sense from the story we have.
sadly Naoko was not given time to write her story, so there are some plot holes. and some inconsistencies
remember that she wanted to end the story with dark kingdom and she wrote black moon without thinking of future storyline
but it’s safe to assume that the future changed because chibs started growing

And Usagi with Mamoru as couple and waiting for Chibiusa born 😁 O yeah about 30 the long life span, those meaning all citizen inculding Usago, Endymion, Chibiusa and all Senshi is eternal life and their appearance is always youthful right?
I read from Reddit or twitters. In all Arcs, the dream arc or super sailor s is very hated because Chibiusa appearance and the outers are not much appear at the arc?

dream arc in the manga is not hated at all, the 90s SuperS on the other hand, was the worst. so altered, also no outers at ALL in the 90s

When do you read about stars arc especially Usagi must confront the sailor Senshi and Mamoru who has manipulated to fight her. What do you think? And about ending when all Senshi and Usagi plus Mamoru wedding is which they be each other again until Chibiusa born, what feeling do you have? I mean like sweet but sad because manga is end. And I very happy because finally their battles is end and now lead to better future. When I saw all Senshi mainly Haruka and Michiru dead and become evil plus all Senshi do Planet attack is very hurt to see them like that plus I see clip final musical too at YouTube is very made my hearts is hurt. But the reunion at cauldron make me relieve and the ending is perfect because Usagi and Mamoru can be together with all Senshi be with them. So what your opinion, Karu?

Wahahahaha I really love the plot and ending too especially manga ending with HaruMichi in wedding dresses. I love it. But until now in 90’s anime why stars arc can really changing much until Galaxia battle where HaruMichi become traitor even they just plot to defeat Galaxia with their hands and ending all different very much and make Haruka in male clothes plus DiC dub ughhh until now that cousin meme is often found at YouTube and Twitter 😤
